Acosexual (/-romantic/-platonic/-aesthetic/-queerplatonic/-sensual/-alterous) is an esmosexuality defined as "experiencing attraction that one wants to act on, but at the same time having a strong aversion to engaging in it due to bad experiences, apprehension, or other misgivings about being involved in romantic relationships or sexual activity, etc."1

History of the term

Acosexual was coined before August 30, 2015 by pastelmemer. The first flag, by tumblr user rythian-exe, was posted on that date by Pride-Flags on Deviantart.2 The second flag was created on or before September 9, 2015 by unknown and posted on that date by Pride-Flags on Deviantart.3 The rest of the flags were created on July 1, 2018 by Fy on Beyond-Mogai-Pride-Flags.4
