Color meanings:
Blue - Representative of physical objects, whether man-made or nature based.
Gray - Representative of abstract or non-tangible inanimate objects.
Yellow - Eyecatching and bright, representative of public objects.
Purple - Muted and calming, representative of personal objects.
White - Representative of the animistic belief held by many OS folks.
The Red Circle - Represents the OS/OR community and it is filled in with the flag’s core color of white to represent the spirit we sense in our beloved objects.

Objectum sexual (/-romantic/-platonic/-aesthetic/-queerplatonic/-sensual/-alterous) is a miscellaneous MOGAI sexuality defined as a sexual and/or romantic orientation which denotes an attraction to inanimate objects. One can also have QP, platonic, alterous, or other sorts of feelings toward objects.

Beloved objects have included buildings, bridges, toys, cranes, cars/trucks, machines, robots, statues, fences, water, musical instruments, articles of clothing, amusement park rides, and even objects which are not tangible, such as logos or letters. Everyone experiences object love in their own way!
Many objectum people believe in animism, the idea that everything has a spirit or spiritual energy, including people, plants, animals, and naturally: objects. Sometimes a person may feel their objectum orientation stems from neurodivergence or personification synaesthesia, though [Objectum Sexual people] universally reject pathologization regardless of where [their] orientations come from.

Objectum Sexuality is different from a sexual paraphilia, which does not imply a devoted personal relationship, feeling mutual and reciprocal attraction, and usually does not include animistic beliefs. Dr. Ay Marsh, a sexologist who has studied OS people, has developed a spectrum that explains some of the differences between object fetishism and objectum orientation here. While it is not perfect (in the case of exclusion of desire for human partners and not factoring in aromantic OS folk) it is otherwise a very accurate and helpful measure of the differences between fetish and orientation.
Some OS people are also polyamorous, and are dedicated to many objects, while some are devoted to a single object.
Some OS people may also be attracted to humans, or be attracted to objects exclusively.1

History of the term

Objectum Sexual was coined by Erika Eiffel, the woman who married the Eiffel Tower, in 2008. On March 21, 2015 tumblr blog new-mogai-archive added it to its collection of terms.2 The flag was created on February 24, 2016 by Pride-Flags on Deviantart.3
