Growlitheinan is a fictigender defined as "a pokemon xenogender/kingender related to Growlithe. A growlitheinan prefers to present androgynous or masculine. Gender feels heavily related to fire and canines, and is deep rooted in feelings of intimidation, defensiveness, and loyalty."1

History of the term

Growlitheinan was coined on December 5, 2019 by tumblr user nebbiaboy (formerly maxwellsaystransrights). The flag was created at the same time.2
