Hiraethgender is a kingender defined as "a gender related to a homesickness for a home to which you cannot return, a home which maybe never was. This term is to be used by otherkin only. If you do not identify as nonhuman in any way, do not use this gender."1

History of the term

Hiraethgender was coined on November 30, 2019 by tumblr user alexanderkin. The flag was created at the same time.2
