The colors of the flag are colors similar to the Minecraft dirt block but are not color picked, with a teal stripe in the middle for aesthetic reasons.

Minehypic is a neurogender defined as "a gender that is connected to Minecraft in a way that cannot be worded. Mine comes from Minecraft, while Hypic comes from Minecraft being a hyperfixation of [the coiner] for years."1

History of the term

Minehypic was coined on August 7, 2019 by tumblr user craftgender. The flag was created at the same time.2
