History of the term

Taffyic was coined on November 28, 2018 by tumblr user hawaiiaine (aka beysgender, mogai-minecraft-snail, polysexualtea, aresgoesgender, thepancherryblossom).2 The flag was created on September 28, 2019 by tumblr user ohmygod-stillhasapersonalblog (aka stillonthe1stseasonofsherlock), who described their experience of the term as follows:

"Taffyic isn’t just related to taffy – it’s a gender that feels soft and malleable, but is also sweet and small, and just a little bit tough as well."3
