Treowian was coined on October 20, 2019 by tumblr user hawaiiaine (aka genderrose, mason-the-owlkin, atergender, beysgender, mogai-minecraft-snail, polysexualtea, aresgoesgender, thepancherryblossom). The flag was created at the same time.2
